Summary: In this presentation, Alenka Unk will provide an insight into the linguistic tools and technology used at the European Commission to provide quality translation from and into all official EU languages. She will demonstrate how the established workflow allows for proper treatment of the generated data and its reuse in future translation projects and in building the in-house neural machine translation engines at the eTranslation portal.
Speaker Biography: Alenka Unk has over two decades’ worth of translation experience. She has been working as a translator for the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission since 2008. In 2018, she took on the additional role of the Slovenian language department’s Language Technology Coordinator. She is involved with supporting her colleagues in their use of language technology and collaborates with other LTCs at DGT level.
