Summary: In this lecture, Stamatina Salogianni will give an overview of multilingualism in the EU and in the European Commission, in the context of legal translation addressed to 27 Member States. She will also give concrete examples of legal translation issues in this context, and speak about what the Commission does in order to ensure quality in the documents it produces.

Speaker Biography: Stamatina Salogianni is a legal translator with many years of experience in the field. She has been working as a translator for the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission since 2017. Other than translation, her duties involve terminology and quality assurance. She speaks 7 languages.
