On November 26, 2021, MBA Center of School of Business and Management, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) successfully held the second issue of “Digital Transformation Forum” of the MBA Concentration-oriented Forums in Lecture Hall II, Building 1, Hongkou Campus, SISU. The theme of the forum was “Opportunities and Challenges in the Era of Digital Economy - From the Internet of Everything to the Smart Earth”. This forum is mainly for the current MBA students, alumni, candidates and partners, and also takes online and offline synchronization to fully cover the people who are interested in this topic.
This forum involves one of the characteristic of SISU MBA---Digital Transformation, we are honored to invite Wu Yunqiao, Vice Dean of the School of Business and Management(SBM) of Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), Lv Tingjie, former Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (Professor and Doctoral Advisor), Bai Yong, General Manager of the Channel Business Division of Google Greater China, Zong Jiawu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Nuotong (Shanghai) Digital Healthcare Technology Company Limited and Wang Xin, Director of the Shanghai International Studies University (Associate Professor of the School of Business and Management, Doctoral Advisor), to join us onsite, which brighten up our forum.
When guests and participants were all presented, the forum kicked off. Director Wang Xin, the presenter, gave an opening speech, mentioning that the goal of this forum is to stimulate students' interest in digital transformation, attract more students to pay attention to this field, and explore more development possibilities. After that, she introduced the speakers of the forum one by one and announced the official start of the forum.
First of all, Mr. Wu Yunqiao, Vice Dean of School of Business and Management (SBM) of SISU, delivered a speech. He mentioned that the MBA program aims to to cultivate BORDERLESS MANAGEMENT elites to create value for the world,and that digital transformation is a very hot topic of economic and social concern at present, of which “metaverse” is a typical representative. We should keep abreast of the world's frontiers. The current comprehensive urban digital transformation also reflects that digital transformation is deepening in various fields and industries. Mr. Wu's short but far-reaching introductory speech brought insights to students and gave them an initial concept of digital transformation.
Then, Professor Lv Tingjie, Mr. Bai Yong, Mr. Zong Jiawu and Director Wang Xin delivered their keynote speeches.
Professor Lv Tingjie's speech was titled “Opportunities and Challenges of Digital Transformation”. From the new infrastructure and the 14th Five-Year Plan, he explained the current and future development of investment, consumption and export as the “troika” of China's GDP development in a lively and interesting manner. He also mentioned that China's future is to move towards the digital high-end manufacturing industry. In order to achieve this goal, the core of which is scientific and technological innovation. We have undergone three eras, namely agricultural civilization, industrial civilization, and information civilization. In the information era, information economy is a new opportunity for China. We need to develop digital economy and build a digital China, in which digital economy is the high-level stage of information economy. Finally, Professor Lv also mentioned that the next decade will be the decade of digital transformation of society, and all industries are worth redoing again.
Mr. Bai Yong's speech topic is “Digital Marketing Maturity Framework”, which involves the digital transformation framework - digital marketing technology development. He mentioned the three “driving forces” that accelerate the development of information technology, namely profit, digital, privacy. The data privacy regulation are intensified in this process, the impact factors are user privacy control, regulatory changes and operating system updates. Then he elaborated the three modules of digital transformation, the four phases of digital imaging practices in the early stages, the base of digital transformation and the organization's important milestones, and the six dimensions of digital marketing maturity management. He also mentioned that it is time to embrace the digital revolution in terms of user Internet services, automated business processes, digitization of all products, and the rise of machine learning. He also shared experimental cases like Alpha Go, Alpha Go Zero, Alpha Zero VS Stockfish, and got the corresponding conclusion that machine learning algorithms ability can double every 4 months. Five years later, the ability of machine learning will be upgraded 300 million times. Finally, Mr. Bai Yong also said that the future will be more real-time data-driven.
Mr. Zong Jiawu spoke on the topic of “Analysis of the current situation and future development direction of China's digital healthcare industry”, sharing with us his understanding and knowledge of the digital transformation industry from four aspects. First, digitalization, we need to use new generation of information technology to carry out systematic and comprehensive change for subjects at all levels of operation. The emphasis is on the importance of digital technology for reshaping entire organization. Second, digital health care, it mainly involves the digitalization of medical equipment, the internet available of medical equipment, hospital management information and personalization of medical services. Third, the analysis of the mainstream mode of digital health care in China, the main modes are traditional HIS, PACS/RIS, LIS, integrated platform, CIS, HRP, etc. Fourth, the development of China's digital healthcare: First, platform with SAAS mode, which involves logistics management, financial management, emergency integration, etc. Second, artificial intelligence, which involves assisted decision-making, surgical assistances, digital twins, digital therapies, etc. Third, metaverse, which means using AR, VR and other combination of technology to realize the application scenarios in the medical industry, and it also expresses a vision of Mr. Zong Jiawu for the medical industry.
Director Wang Xin spoke on the topic of “the digitalization of traditional Chinese medicine”, and introduced the Chinese medicine industry from three aspects. The first aspect is the background of Chinese medicine industry. In recent years, the number and scale of Chinese medicine consultation are increasing, but at present there are still pain points in the realm, namely the scarcity of resources, cumbersome process, data loss. The second aspect is the digital solution. It mainly focuses on the “Internet + Chinese medicine”, conducting researches related to Chinese medicine sharing and storage technology and intensive learning of intelligent diagnosis and treatment method based on clouding. By doing so, we can build Chinese medicine intelligent auxiliary diagnosis and treatment cloud platform, realizing digitization from various aspects. The third aspect is scientific research achievements & application examples, the platform has obtained a number of scientific research achievements, mainly the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the provincial science and technology research, the city's major scientific and technological innovation special projects, etc. At the same time, the system has already completed the pilot test among hospitals, and has already had a number of cooperative partners, such as Guangzhou Xiangxue Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and the Zunyi Huichuan District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At present, the platform is still in the process of continuous improvement. In the future, we also hope that we can show you more functions.
Finally, we held the roundtable forum. Mr. Bai Yong, Professor Lv Tingjie answered the questions like “whether and how to break the data barriers between enterprises”, “which is more difficult to build the information system and strategy landing in the process of digitalization”, “recommended entrepreneurial focus under the digital transformation”, “the traditional import and export trade digital transformation issues” and so on.With the enthusiastic participation of students both online and offline, this forum came to a successful end.
