On November 3rd, 2014, Wu Hongbo, Deputy Secretary-General of United Nations, visited SBM. He was accompanied by Jiang Feng, Chancellor of SISU, and Fan Zheng, Dean of SBM.
Wu Hongbo looked at a teaching demonstration in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Lab, and inspected documents displayed in SBM’s exhibition room. He listened attentively as Dean Fan Zheng gave an introduction on the history of SBM, discipline development, admissions, talent cultivation and achievements. Wu particularly sang high praise to the establishment of the Public Relations program in SBM. In Yourside Coffee, a coffee bar set up by SBM students, Wu was very interested in students’ initiative to start their own business, and asked many questions about Programs of Innovation Training and Entrepreneurship for Undergraduates SBM.
During the visit, Wu expressed his wish that SBM and SISU would be able to take the regional advantages of Shanghai and integrate available resources so as to create favorable conditions for cultivating innovative international talents featuring global vision, cross-cultural communication and comprehensive competence. He exchanged his views with students on preparing globalized talents, serving state strategy, promoting international communication and achieving national rejuvenation. The discussion particularly focused on the development of public PR of China, the global significance of Chinese culture.
