On March 5, 2011, Hult Global Case Challenge was held simultaneously in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai, and Shanghai. Over 100 teams from world’s famous business schools focused on the serious global issue “clean drinking water recourses” and put forward most creative solutions.
SISU is the only co-organizer in Asian division. SISU MBA Center and SISU SBM undertook the final of Asian division. MBA students from famous business schools in Asian (including HKUST business school, Singapore National University, Japan Hitotsubashi University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai International Studies University, CEIBS) participated in the competition.
On the opening ceremony, Professor Feng Qinghua, Deputy Party Secretary of SISU gave the speech to welcome the students and wish them achievements in the competition. Judges of the competition are Wei Wei, the former McKinsey Global partner, Richard Holder, TESCO CFO in China, Guo Sheng, CEO of Zhilian Zhaopin, Wang Sanqiang, McKinsey Associate Director. After two rounds of competition, Hong Kong University of science and technology won the championship of Asian division. And they will go to New York for the final in April. Professor Fan Zheng, SBM Dean, was invited to attend the awards ceremony, and awarded the winning team.
As an innovative competition, Hult Global Case Challenge attaches importance to social responsibility of business schools and innovation and problem solution ability of students. With this kind of competition, more and more MBA students are expected to pay attention to environmental problems and help more people with their knowledge.
2011 Challenge deals with clean water acquirement based on members of the Clinton global initiative of Water.org. The challenge included two stages: division competitions and global final competition. Division competitions are held in five campuses in five cities (Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai, and Shanghai) simultaneously. The winners of division competitions will participate in the final competition in New York W Hotel in April 28. MBA students are requested to accomplish real project consulting and their solutions will be judged by world-class executives. The competition will provide one million dollars with the best innovation for its practice. Global winner will be awarded by US President Clinton.
