On November 24th, the final session of the second National MBA Entrepreneurship Competition among universities of Foreign language and Foreign Trade was held at the Beijing International Studies University (BISU), jointly organized by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and Shanghai International Studies University. The competition was hosted by MTA/MBA Education Center of BISU. Under the guidance of Wu Yunqiao, SBM associate dean and director of MBA Center in SISU, MBA students and alumni participated in high spirits.
The opening speeches were delivered by Associate Professor Zou Tongqian, Director of BISU, Associate Professor Luo Xinqing, Director of MTA/MBA Education Center of BISU, Associate Professor Wang Gang, Director of MBA Center of GDUFS, and Associate Professor Wu Yunqiao. In his speech, Prof. Wu said that entrepreneurial opportunities are nothing more than three areas: first, disruptive technology to create new markets; second, product iterations to meet new demands in the existing market; and third, new opportunities arising from uneven development between different regions. The competition was launched by three universities that boast expertise in international studies, echoing the current trend in China.
The 12 teams that had entered the final presented their projects to the judges and the audience through videos and business plans before Q&As. The four teams representing SISU MBA have had excellent performance against other teams, with projects covering education, social innovation, energy conservation, environmental protection and intelligent manufacturing. They received insightful comments and positive feedbacks from expert judges.
After fierce competition, one of the SISU MBA teams won the second prize, one the third prize and another two the Excellent awards. The awarded projects cover areas from innovation in manufacturing to internet sector.
The National MBA Entrepreneurship Competition has been a great platform for practice and exchange among MBA students in foreign language universities. From the preliminary competition to the final, the students have made continuous improvement on their projects, taking advices from professors and peers and achieved great results.
