Career Development
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of science and technology, there has been a gradual increase in the mutual application of finance and technology. As fintech is experiencing rapid development, improving finance with technology has become a national strategy. The report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC highlighted the need to “accelerate the development of the digital economy, and further integrate it with the real economy”, which marks a new stage of high-quality development for fintech in the future. Fintech has become pervasive across the society, reshaping the entire financial industry. Technologies such as mobile payments, digital currencies, blockchain, financial big data, machine learning, and cognitive computing have infiltrated the financial sector. At the same time, the technology-driven and rapidly evolving financial service industry is placing higher demands on talents. The fast growth of fintech spells high demands for financial talents. However, fintech is a relatively new field, emerging only recently, and an all-around and matured talent cultivation system for fintech hasn’t been established. Based on and supported by technology, fintech falls into the category of management science and engineering. Therefore, offering fintech courses closely aligned with social demands is imperative.
